Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier, announced a major capacity and frequency boost across its international network, alongside strategic domestic upgrades, to meet the soaring demand for travel during the peak 2025/2026 holiday season. This significant expansion is designed to ensure smoother, more flexible, and convenient journeys for passengers connecting the Philippines with key destinations across the globe.
“As the country’s flag carrier, we remain committed to enhancing our network, ensuring we meet robust demand and connect travelers to more destinations during the peak travel season,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall. “This commitment extends to delivering world-class excellence, heartfelt care, and providing the warmth of Filipino hospitality in every journey.”
The expansion heavily targets the Philippines–Australia market with both increased frequencies and larger aircraft:
Perth: Flights on the Manila–Perth route will double from three to six weekly services between mid-December 2025 and mid-January 2026.
Melbourne: Manila–Melbourne services will increase from five times per week to a daily service during the same peak period.
Brisbane: Select Manila–Brisbane flights will be upgraded to the tri-class Airbus A330 widebody aircraft, replacing the Airbus A321neo, to offer higher capacity and enhanced passenger comfort.
In the United States, Manila–Seattle services will expand from three to five times weekly starting November 25, 2025, complementing PAL’s existing robust network that includes daily flights to San Francisco and Guam, twice-daily service to Los Angeles, thrice-weekly flights to New York, and five-times-weekly service to Honolulu.
PAL is also significantly boosting services across its Asian and regional networks:
Vietnam and South Korea: Starting October 26, 2025, the Manila–Da Nang route will operate daily until March 28, 2026 (up from three times weekly). Manila–Busan flights will rise from seven to eleven per week during the same period.
The flag carrier is reviving its seasonal non-stop flights between Manila and Sapporo, offering thrice-weekly service from November 24 to March 27. Additionally, extra round-trip flights will be offered for the peak season between Manila and Narita, Osaka, and Nagoya.
Cebu Regional Hub: PAL is expanding services out of Cebu to serve Visayas and Mindanao travelers:
Additional round-trips will be offered between Cebu and Osaka and between Cebu and Narita during the holidays.
Starting December 16, PAL will mount thrice-weekly nonstop flights between Cebu and Guam, underscoring the airline’s commitment to expanding regional access and supporting U.S. Pacific territory connectivity.
These strategic developments solidify PAL’s dedication to providing expanded connectivity and convenient travel options, making it easier for travelers to experience the Philippines’ vibrant culture and warm hospitality.
