CAAP hosts National Aviation Safety Summit to future-proof Philippine airspace for sustained growth

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is convening industry leaders, policymakers, and technical experts for a crucial two-day Aviation Safety Summit aimed at strengthening the country’s aviation standards and preparing the sector for future expansion.

The summit, held from November 5-6, 2025, at the Casa Ibarra in Pasay City, is anchored on the theme: “Future-proofing the Philippine Aviation Ecosystem for Growth.”

CAAP Director General Lt Gen Raul L Del Rosario, AFP (Ret), underscored the core philosophy driving the initiative, emphasizing that organizational commitment alone is insufficient to guarantee safety.

“For us in the aviation sector, safety is not just a regulatory mandate; it is a fundamental discipline and a responsibility shared unequivocally by both leadership and every single team member,” said Director General Del Rosario. “This summit is a vital component of our strategy to ensure that as the Philippine aviation industry grows, its integrity and commitment to passenger security grow with it.”

This event marks a significant continuation of CAAP’s efforts to deepen stakeholder engagement and actively promote a robust and proactive safety culture across the entire Philippine civil aviation system.

The comprehensive summit agenda features leading domestic and international speakers who are sharing valuable perspectives on enhancing operational resilience, adopting best practices, and managing emerging risks within the sector. Discussions are focused on:

Promoting and enhancing leading-edge safety protocols in all areas of aviation.

Encouraging seamless collaboration and information sharing among all stakeholders, including airlines, air traffic control, maintenance organizations, and regulators.

Building a sustainable and embedded culture of safety that permeates all levels of the industry.

By bringing together these key players, CAAP aims to forge a collective strategy that ensures the Philippine airspace remains one of the safest and most efficient in the region, capable of supporting the country’s economic and tourism objectives for decades to come.
