HitPay, a leading all-in-one payments platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has announced a partnership with Visa Acceptance Solutions to expand card payment acceptance in the Philippines. The partnership will enable Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) to process both in-store and online transactions, accelerating the country’s transition to a more digital economy.
Digital commerce in the Philippines is growing rapidly, fueled by surging consumer demand for cashless and seamless shopping experiences. By integrating HitPay’s easy-to-use payment platform with the scale and connectivity of Visa Acceptance Solutions, the partnership ensures that more local merchants can quickly and affordably offer card payments across channels to match evolving customer expectations and expand their reach beyond cash.
Through this connection with the Visa Acceptance Platform (VAP), HitPay can bring its full suite of payment capabilities directly to businesses nationwide. SMBs can get started quickly with both online and in-person payments, without needing to set up their own direct bank contracts, which entail lengthy application processes. They can also access affordable and flexible devices like EMV-certified card readers, and mobile-based solutions.
This direct connection to VAP enables HitPay to deliver secure, simple, and flexible solutions faster and at greater scale, giving more Filipino entrepreneurs a vital tool to grow their business in the digital age. According to Visa research, card-accepting merchants witness an 83% increase in turnover.
“Our mission at HitPay has always been to make digital payments accessible to every small business,” said Aditya Haripurkar, CEO at HitPay. “With our connection to Visa Acceptance Platform, we are removing the friction and cost barriers that historically kept card acceptance out of reach for many Filipino merchants. This empowers them to compete effectively and truly participate in the Philippines’ rapidly expanding digital economy.”
“We believe an open platform approach is key to enabling innovation at scale, and increasing financial inclusion” said Kunal Chatterjee, Head of Acceptance Sales, Value-Added Services, Asia Pacific at Visa. “By working with partners like HitPay, Visa is helping bring the benefits of our global acceptance network to local businesses in the Philippines. Together, we are creating the seamless, omnichannel experiences that today’s Filipino customers expect, making it easier for local SMBs to accept card payments and thrive.”
Following the launch in the Philippines, HitPay and Visa, through Visa Acceptance Solutions, plan to expand their partnership to additional Southeast Asian markets, bringing simple, secure, and affordable card acceptance to more businesses across the region.
