PPA concludes successful pilot of Online Reservation Assistance System

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) announced the conclusion of the pilot testing phase for the Online Reservation Assistance System (ORAS) on April 8, 2026.

Launched as a flagship component of Oplan Semana Santa, the system was instrumental in managing the heavy influx of maritime travelers during the Lenten peak season.

With the conclusion of the peak travel period, ORAS has transitioned to a standby status to undergo comprehensive system maintenance and optimization.

This scheduled downtime is designed to integrate data gathered during the pilot phase, ensuring that the system can offer even more seamless travel arrangements and improved service delivery in its next iteration.

During this maintenance period, the public is advised of the following temporary changes:

  • Temporary Unavailability: The ORAS portal will be offline and inaccessible for new reservations until further notice.

  • Ticketing Process: Passengers currently planning to travel may proceed directly to their respective shipping lines to purchase tickets at the port or via authorized ticketing outlets.

  • ORAS Pass Requirements: The “ORAS Pass” is no longer required for port entry or boarding at this time. “The pilot run of ORAS provided us with invaluable insights into the digital needs of our Filipino travelers,” the PPA stated. “We are now refining the platform to ensure it remains a robust, user-friendly tool for the future of maritime transport.”

The PPA encourages the public to remain vigilant and follow only official channels for updates. An announcement regarding the permanent reopening of the system and its new features will be issued via the Philippine Ports Authority’s official website and social media pages.

The Authority extends its sincere gratitude to the riding public and partner shipping lines for their cooperation and feedback during this successful pilot testing period.
