President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced a significant reduction in domestic fuel prices effective Tuesday, April 14, 2026, marking a decisive step in the administration’s efforts to ease the financial burden on the transport sector and Filipino consumers.
The scheduled rollback will see substantial decreases across major petroleum products:
-
Diesel: To be reduced by more than PhP 20.00 per liter.
-
Kerosene: To be reduced by PhP 8.50 per liter.
-
Gasoline: To be reduced by PhP 4.43 per liter.
In a statement released Sunday, President Marcos emphasized that these price adjustments are part of a broader, multi-sectoral strategy to mitigate the impact of volatile global oil markets on the local economy.
“Mayroon po akong ibabalita sa inyo. Simula Martes, April 14, may malaking rollback sa presyo ng langis,” the President stated. “Ang mga bawas na ito ay malaking tulong para sa ating mga drayber, komyuter, at bawat pamilyang Pilipino.”
While acknowledging the importance of the rollback, the President clarified that the government does not view this as a final solution. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to lowering the cost of living, including food prices and transportation expenses.
“It is not yet enough,” President Marcos noted in Filipino. “The government will continue to work tirelessly to alleviate the effects of high crude prices on your daily lives. We will not stop until we have reduced the costs of travel, food, and the overall living expenses of our countrymen.”
The Chief Executive further teased additional government interventions scheduled for rollout in the coming weeks. These upcoming programs are expected to provide targeted subsidies and support to the most vulnerable sectors.
“In the coming days and weeks, I will be announcing additional measures and assistance from the government,” the President added. “We will not allow any Filipino to be neglected amidst these challenges. Our focus remains on ensuring every family feels a sense of relief.”
The administration continues to monitor global market trends and remains in close coordination with the Department of Energy (DOE) and other relevant agencies to ensure price stability and the continuous delivery of social services.
