After establishing its four-wheel electric vehicle business in the Philippines, Vietnam’s fast-growing mobility company VinFast officially launched three electric motorcycle models on Friday, alongside the opening of 21 full-service showrooms, ramping up the network to 100 nationwide by the end of the year to provide more Filipinos with cost-effective and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
The three e-motorcycle models are the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. The Evo is priced at PHP70,000 with battery subscription, PHP82,700 with one battery included, and PHP95,400 with two batteries. The Feliz II is priced at PHP72,400 with battery subscription, PHP85,100 with one battery, and PHP97,800 with two batteries.
Meanwhile, the Viper is priced at PHP81,900 with battery subscription, PHP94,600 with one battery, and PHP107,300 with two batteries.
Each model is designed to meet different mobility needs and riding preferences. The Evo combines elegant styling with everyday agility, offering a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of up to 150 kilometers using two fully charged batteries. The Feliz II focuses on practicality and versatility, with a top speed of 90 km/h. Completing the lineup is the Viper, which features a sporty design, a maximum power output of 5,200 watts, and a top speed of 90 km/h, targeting younger riders who value technology and a more engaging riding experience.
All three models are offered through VinFast’s flexible ownership program, allowing customers to choose between a battery subscription plan, which includes battery-swapping privileges, or purchasing the motorcycle with batteries included, depending on their preferences and usage requirements.
Nino I. Fabros, CEO of VinFast E-Motorcycle Philippines, the company’s operating unit for its two-wheel business, said reservations had already reached the thousands after the company opened pre-orders ahead of its official launch.
Interest in the new models has been driven largely by the economic benefits of owning an electric motorcycle amid rising fuel prices and the country’s relatively high electricity costs.
Based on the company’s calculations, Fabros said owning a VinFast e-motorcycle could generate savings of up to PHP157,680 over five years, reduce operating costs by as much as 80 percent, and require up to 90 percent less maintenance than conventional motorcycles.
Apart from the economic advantages, Fabros also cited the environmental and health benefits resulting from reduced emissions.
Number one
In terms of market ambition, Fabros said VinFast aims to become the country’s leading and strongest e-motorcycle brand.
“Our vision here is to be the number one,” Fabros said.
While he did not provide a specific timelines for this growth target, Fabros said the Philippine motorcycle market exceeds 2 million units last year, with scooters accounting for around 70 percent of total sales. This is the segment where the three VinFast models will compete directly.
He further he noted that the Philippine electric two-wheeler market remains highly fragmented, with no dominant player and most offerings concentrated in the e-bike segment.
No e-bike dealer has undertaken a commercial rollout on the scale of VinFast’s e-motorcycle launch. “E-motorcycles are different from e-bikes,” he said.
He added that VinFast’s dealerships are strategically located in areas with high concentrations of traditional internal combustion motorcycles. Operated by some of the country’s largest motorcycle dealers, the independent VinFast 3S dealerships provide sales, service, and spare parts support.
Vo Thi Cam Tu, CEO of VinFast E-Scooters & E-Bikes, International Markets, said the opening of 21 VinFast showrooms alongside the launch of the three electric motorcycle models reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the Philippine market.
