The Migrant Workers Office–Kuala Lumpur (MWO-KL) recently welcomed Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac during his official visit to Kuala Lumpur. The visit underscored the Department’s ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral labor cooperation with Malaysia and expanding welfare services for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Secretary Cacdac was accompanied by key DMW officials, including Undersecretary Atty. Jainal Rasul Jr. and Ms. Ma. Anna Katerina Fulgencio.
During his visit, Secretary Cacdac participated in high-level discussions focused on worker protection and labor cooperation:

Diplomatic Courtesy Call: The delegation met with Her Excellency Maria Angela A. Ponce, Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia, to align strategies regarding the welfare and protection of Filipino migrant workers in the region.

Bilateral Labor Discussions: Secretary Cacdac held a bilateral meeting with Malaysia’s Minister of Human Resources (MOHR), H.E. Minister YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting fair, ethical, and safe labor practices, while addressing key issues impacting Filipino workers in Malaysia.

OWWA Global Training Center Tour: The Secretary inspected the OWWA Global Training Center, reviewing its ongoing skills development programs designed to enhance the professional competencies of OFWs.
The official visit concluded at the Migrant Workers Office–Kuala Lumpur Grounds with “KUMUSTAHAN SA TAHANAN,” a dedicated meet-and-greet event with the Filipino community in Malaysia.
Secretary Cacdac personally engaged with attendees, listened to their experiences, and addressed community concerns. He reiterated the DMW’s mission to deliver responsive, accessible, and compassionate services to every Filipino working abroad.
