The Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon S. Garin met with Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen in a high-level courtesy meeting to discuss strategic opportunities for cooperation in advancing the biofuels sector, accelerating clean energy growth, and enhancing national energy security.
Governor Pillen led a delegation representing Nebraska’s agricultural and manufacturing sectors, alongside state agricultural trade associations. The trade mission underscores Nebraska’s global leadership in biofuels—specifically ethanol production—and aims to foster bilateral trade and technological collaboration.
The meeting was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson and key officials from the U.S. Embassy in Manila, highlighting the robust economic and energy ties between the United States and the Philippines.
