Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon S. Garin recently conducted an official visit to the newly constructed Isla Import Terminals, Inc. (IITI) facility in Batangas City.
The state-of-the-art liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) import and storage facility marks a significant milestone in bolstering the Philippines’ energy infrastructure and ensuring a stable, uninterrupted fuel supply for households and businesses nationwide.
Strategically situated in Barangay Libjo, the IITI facility boasts a nominal total storage capacity of 25 kilotons of propane, butane, and mixed LPG. Engineered to receive large-scale shipments directly from Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs), the terminal serves as a vital logistics hub. From Batangas, LPG can be efficiently distributed via trucks and inter-island vessels, providing robust import and storage capacity to support markets throughout Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Furthermore, the DOE highlighted that such infrastructure developments align with national efforts to reinforce energy security while strictly upholding the highest safety, engineering, and regulatory standards across every tier of the LPG value chain.
