Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) has been named the Top 1 import revenue collection contributor at the Bureau of Customs–Port of Batangas (BOC-POB) for the January-to-July 2026 period, the agency announced during its 69th Founding Anniversary celebration on August 17 in Bauan, Batangas.
TMP remitted P23.66 billion in customs duties and taxes over seven months, representing 16.4% of the port’s total revenue collection. This figure, however, reflects a decline from the same period last year, which BOC-POB attributed to macroeconomic challenges and lower demand linked to the energy crisis that affected the first half of 2026. Despite the decline, TMP remained the top revenue source for the port district.
Carmelita Talusan, BOC-POB District Collector, announced that the Port of Batangas emerged as the country’s highest-performing collection district for January to July. The port has consistently exceeded its revenue targets, contributing nearly a quarter of the total national customs revenue. Notably, in July 2026, the port achieved its highest single-month collection in its 69-year history.
Talusan thanked port stakeholders, including TMP and other major players in the automotive and energy sectors, for their contributions to the district’s record performance.
TMP’s customs operations benefit from its Batangas Vehicle Center, which is located near the port. The center has also been certified as an Authorized Economic Operator Level 2 entity.
The auto company emphasized that its ongoing partnership with the Bureau of Customs reflects its commitment to compliant trade practices and efficient nationwide distribution of automotive products. Ed. Armin Amio
