The Philippines and Morocco reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during the Third Philippines-Morocco Bilateral Consultations Meeting at Seda Manila Bay.

Throughout the meeting, both delegations explored various areas of cooperation, including trade, tourism, education, environmental protection, consular services, labor, and maritime affairs. They also exchanged views on significant regional and international issues.

The delegations emphasized the importance of this consultation meeting, especially in light of the upcoming 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Morocco in 2025.

The Philippine delegation was led by DFA Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs, Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, while the Moroccan delegation was headed by His Excellency Omar Kadiri, Director for Asian Affairs and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.

The meeting was preceded by a courtesy call from Assistant Minister Kadiri to Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo.

Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Morocco were formally established on April 10, 1975. The Philippines reopened its embassy in Rabat in 2020, after more than 30 years of closure, while Morocco inaugurated its embassy in Manila in 2018.
