The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) officially welcomed Acting Director General LTGEN Raul L. Del Rosario AFP (Ret) during the turnover ceremony at its Central Office in Pasay City on March 3, 2025.
During the ceremony, outgoing Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, gave his final flag raising assembly message as well as led the welcoming of the acting director general through a ceremonial turnover of the CAAP flag.
In his farewell message, Capt. Tamayo conveyed that while he feels a sense of sadness in departing, he remains optimistic about CAAP’s future under the leadership of LTGEN Del Rosario. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the CAAP community, whom he regards not only as colleagues but as friends.
Attending his first flag raising ceremony with the CAAP community, LTGEN Del Rosario expressed his commitment, stating, “With your cooperation, papanindigan ko po ito. Sama-sama natin itaguyod ang ating mandato, isulong natin ang programa ng ating Pangulo, at sumabay tayo sa sipag at sigasig ng ating Secretary Vince Dizon.” He also extended his gratitude to the President and Secretary for their trust in appointing him, as well as to outgoing DG Tamayo for his exemplary leadership.
Transferring command of CAAP to its new pilot-in-command, outgoing DG Tamayo quipped, “You have it.” To which, LTGEN Del Rosario confidently responded, “I have it.”
In the coming days, LTGEN Del Rosario is set to tour the CAAP offices to personally meet the rest of the CAAP community.
