Spotlight Power Inc. broke ground for its 49.9-megawatt Mabini Solar Power Project in Barangay San Pedro, Mabini, Pangasinan, citing the project as a concrete outcome of the government’s efforts to accelerate strategic investments under the Green Lane initiative.
The project, which spans 41.25 hectares, was granted Green Lane certification in 2024 and subsequently registered with the BOI in 2025, underscoring its alignment with national priorities to fast-track renewable energy development, enhance energy security, and promote sustainable economic growth.
The project’s engineering, procurement, and construction will be undertaken by China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE), a globally recognized infrastructure and engineering firm.
Once completed, the Mabini Solar Power Project is expected to contribute clean and reliable energy to the grid, support the reduction of carbon emissions, and generate employment opportunities during both the construction and operational phases, while stimulating local economic development in Mabini, Pangasinan.
The Mabini Solar Power Project forms part of Zenith Renewables Inc.’s growing portfolio of renewable energy initiatives supporting the Philippines’ transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
Through the facilitation and oversight of the BOI One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments (OSAC-SI), the project was able to secure key permits from separate national government agencies on an expedited basis, resulting in significant time and cost savings. As a result, the project reached the groundbreaking stage within eleven months from pre-development, compared with the usual two-year timeline for similar undertakings.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Spotlight Power Inc. President Aris Tulalian together with Mr. Wang Jiang Nan, Chairman of Spotlight Power Inc. and Director for Southeast Asia of Trina Solar Investment Pte. Ltd. And Ms. Ma Jia Jing, Southeast Asia Development Manager of Trina Solar Investment Pte. Ltd.
