The Bureau of Customs – Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) has achieved a major fiscal milestone this February 2026, surpassing its mid-month targets and recording the highest single-day collection in the port’s history.
As of today, the MICP has generated a total revenue of PHP 11.36 billion, exceeding its mid-month target by 3.8%. This performance was bolstered by a landmark achievement on February 18, where the port collected PHP 1.376 billion—the largest sum ever recorded in a single day by the MICP.
The Port attributes this 3.8% surplus to a comprehensive strategy aimed at eliminating bottlenecks and maximizing operational throughput:
-
Logistics Optimization: Intensified engagement with port terminal operators and shipping lines to streamline cargo flow.
-
Data-Driven Efficiency: Integration of preliminary findings from trade release studies to accelerate clearance processes.
-
Strategic Staffing: Implementation of specialized shifts to ensure 24/7 uninterrupted service delivery.
-
Extended Banking Support: Enhanced cooperation with partner banks to extend working hours into weekends, facilitating faster payments for stakeholders.
District Collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera IV lauded the BOC-MICP personnel for their dedication to the Bureau’s mission, noting that the feat sets a new standard for the port. “This record-breaking performance is more than just numbers; it represents the efficiency and integrity of our team,” said Atty. De Vera.
“We vow to continue pursuing the mandates of the BOC under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, in firm support of the marching orders from President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. and Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go to maximize revenue collection for the nation’s economic growth.”
