Philippine Airlines and Qantas expand frequent flyer partnership to boost global reward access

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Qantas Airways have expanded their frequent flyer partnership, allowing members of their respective loyalty programs to redeem points across both airline networks.

Under the agreement, Mabuhay Miles and Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now redeem their points across both airlines’ networks, providing greater flexibility and more rewarding travel experiences. This development reinforces PAL’s commitment to delivering more value to its loyalty members while broadening partner network access.

Mabuhay Miles members can now use their miles to book flights across Qantas’ international and domestic network, including destinations across Australia and beyond. This includes key leisure and regional destinations such as Adelaide, Hobart, Byron Bay, and Cairns—offering more options for travelers seeking to explore Australia beyond major gateways.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members, in turn, gain access to Philippine Airlines’ network, including multiple destinations across the Philippines and Southeast Asia, supporting demand for leisure and multi-stop travel itineraries.

The partnership also expands redemption opportunities beyond flights. Members of both programs can use their miles across a broader range of travel and lifestyle benefits, in line with Philippine Airlines’ existing offering of rewards spanning travel, retail, and dining experiences.

The Qantas partnership represents the fourth airline collaboration under the Mabuhay Miles program, further expanding its network of global redemption partners.

“Loyalty partnerships are an important part of extending the reach of Mabuhay Miles and delivering more value to our members,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall. “Through our partnership with Qantas, we are expanding access to destinations that complement our network, particularly across Australia, while giving members greater flexibility in how they use their miles.”

“Many of our members want their points to take them further than just the major hubs. Partnering with Philippine Airlines opens up more of Asia and adds 15 destinations previously missing from our partner network,” said Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance. “From the world-class beaches of Boracay to the limestone lagoons of El Nido, these are destinations that feel like a true reward. Members can now build an entire island-hopping itinerary using points, connecting through Manila to some of the most remote and beautiful spots in Southeast Asia.”

PAL operates multiple weekly flights between the Philippines and Australia, providing strong connectivity from Manila to key cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane. PAL offers daily services to Sydney and Brisbane, five weekly flights to Melbourne, and three weekly flights to Perth.

As travel demand continues to evolve, the PAL–Qantas partnership reflects both airlines’ shared focus on delivering increased choice, flexibility, and value to their loyal customers.
