PEZA eyes surge in Vietnamese investment following historic presidential visit

Following the successful state visit of Vietnamese President Tô Lâm to the Philippines, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso O. Panga expressed strong optimism for a significant wave of new investments from Vietnam, particularly within PEZA-registered economic zones.

The presidential visit marked a historic milestone, officially elevating Philippines-Vietnam relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This upgraded status is set to unlock unprecedented avenues for trade, investment, and industrial collaboration between the two nations.

PEZA is strategically positioning itself to attract Vietnamese enterprises looking to expand their footprint across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and global markets.

“The upgraded partnership opens new opportunities for Philippine and Vietnamese businesses to collaborate, integrate into regional supply chains, and strengthen their presence across ASEAN and global markets,” said DG Panga. “PEZA is well-positioned to support this growing economic engagement by providing Vietnamese investors with a competitive, investment-ready environment for regional expansion.”

The collaboration underscores a broader vision for the region. Through deeper bilateral ties, PEZA aims to shift the narrative of ASEAN from a mere production base to a highly dynamic, integrated economic community. This synergy is expected to drive sustainable growth, enhance regional competitiveness, and deliver shared prosperity for member states.

With world-class infrastructure and a business-friendly ecosystem, PEZA’s economic zones are fully prepared to accommodate incoming Vietnamese industries ranging from manufacturing to technology.

“We in PEZA and our ecozones stand ready to serve as strategic gateways for ASEAN-based enterprises seeking to expand their regional and global footprint,” DG Panga emphasized.
