Demonstrating strong fiscal performance and a firm commitment to nation-building, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has officially remitted ₱1.2 billion to the national government.
The substantial financial contribution highlights CAAP’s sound fiscal management and its active role in funding vital government programs and services aimed at benefiting the Filipino people.
CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario formally accepted the recognition from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the annual Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) Day, held at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, July 8.
With this ₱1.2 billion turnover, CAAP has earned an exclusive spot in the government’s prestigious “Billionaires’ Club.” This distinction is strictly reserved for GOCCs that achieve exemplary financial milestones and remit at least ₱1 billion to the National Treasury.
“While we continue to modernize the country’s aviation sector and uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency, we are equally committed to ensuring that our financial performance contributes to national development and ultimately benefits every Filipino,” said Lt. Gen. Del Rosario.
The ₱1.2 billion remittance underscores a successful balancing act for CAAP. As the agency drives the modernization of the Philippines’ aviation infrastructure and enforces rigorous air safety standards, it simultaneously maintains a robust financial track record.
Moving forward, CAAP remains dedicated to optimizing its operational efficiencies to support the administration’s broader socio-economic agenda and ensure safer, world-class skies for the traveling public.
