The Philippines has commenced hosting the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings in Manila. Running from July 20 to July 24, 2026, this high-level diplomatic gathering brings together foreign ministers and secretaries from across Southeast Asia and its global partners under the chairship theme, “Navigating Our Future, Together.”
Over the next four days, intensive dialogue will take center stage as regional leaders address pressing geopolitical challenges, advance economic integration, and reinforce a unified vision for a peaceful and resilient Indo-Pacific region.
The week-long ministerial track is strategically structured to tackle complex regional security issues, human rights, and sustainable growth through several critical phases:

Amid shifting global dynamics, the ministerial discussions will heavily focus on safeguarding the region from external volatility. Central themes include strengthening regional trade, securing food and energy systems against international supply chain disruptions, and accelerating the green energy transition. Ministers are also slated to engage in critical dialogue regarding regional flashpoints, including ongoing updates on the Five-Point Consensus regarding Myanmar.
“These meetings arrive at a moment of heightened global instability, making dialogue between ASEAN and its partners more consequential than usual,” stated ASEAN Spokesperson Dominic Xavier Imperial during the initial media briefing. “This is a pivotal venue for the region to advance key development priorities and further reinforce our shared identity.”
The outcomes of this four-day summit will set the foundations and strategic deliverables ahead of the 49th ASEAN Summits scheduled for November 2026.
