Megawide subsidiary MWM Terminals, Inc. reported that average daily passenger traffic at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) has grown to 181,000 in June, bringing total passenger volume for the first half of the year to 32.5 million, putting the terminal on track to surpass the 60-million passenger target for 2026.
“Given our trajectory, we expect to hit north of 60 million passengers by year end, especially with the influx coming from the PITX-Asia World Station,” said Atty. Jaime Feliciano, Megawide chief business development officer.
In June alone, average daily foot traffic at the country’s first landport reached 181,000, up from 162,000 in the same month last year. This brought total passenger traffic at PITX to 32.5 million in the first half of 2026, compared with 29.2 million during the same period in 2025.
“The continued growth in foot traffic indicates the public’s appreciation of organized, safe, and efficient multi-modal transport and commuting systems,” he said. At the same time, as operator of the terminal, the company continues to respond to the needs of its patrons by expanding its food and beverage outlets, as well as ancillary services such as banking, government, and logistics. “This makes PITX more than just a terminal,” he said.
To further promote seamless commuting, Feliciano said the company’s long-term strategy is to develop a hub-and-spoke transport network, with the 4.9-hectare PITX serving as the centerpiece. This includes additional transport-oriented developments such as the South Luzon Integrated Terminal Exchange (SLITX), the Baguio City Integrated Terminal, and the expansion of its point-to-point (P2P) routes across the country.
SLITX is located along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Barangay Maduya, Carmona, Cavite. The project, which is currently in the development phase, is a joint venture between the City Government of Carmona and Megawide subsidiary Megawide One Mobility Corp.
