The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and StB GigaFactory, Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly explore renewable energy generation, energy storage systems, and e-mobility solutions across New Clark City and other BCDA properties.
The strategic partnership was formalized by BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang and StB GigaFactory CEO Dennis C. Ibarra. The collaboration aims to lay the groundwork for an advanced energy ecosystem designed to meet the growing demands of future industries through cleaner power, heightened energy resilience, and modern infrastructure.
Under the agreement, BCDA will facilitate site access, provide critical project data, and offer administrative support across its development platforms. In turn, StB GigaFactory will lead site surveys, technical feasibility studies, and financial modeling to formulate recommendations for commercial-scale energy projects.
By combining BCDA’s land development footprint with StB GigaFactory’s energy storage technologies, the initiative will demonstrate how renewable power generation, high-capacity battery storage, and electric mobility can integrate seamlessly at scale.
New Clark City continues to expand its role as a national hub for advanced technology, clean power, and sustainable design. Notably, the city hosts StB GigaFactory’s facility—the Philippines’ first manufacturing plant for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
The partnership directly aligns with the Marcos administration’s national agenda to strengthen energy security, accelerate the transition to renewable energy, build climate-resilient infrastructure, and drive long-term economic growth.
