The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei) hosted a group of Taiwanese business leaders on a five-day mission to the Philippines from July 27 to 31, 2026, aimed at building new trade connections, growing local manufacturing, and boosting economic ties between the two countries.
Working alongside the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), the mission brought executives together to explore opportunities in technology, electronics, and factory production.
The visit highlights the Philippines’ growing appeal as a key destination for Taiwanese companies looking to branch out and expand across Southeast Asia.
During the trip, the delegation met with local government representatives and business leaders for factory tours, industry briefings, and networking sessions to create long-term business partnerships.
Major Philippine economic agencies, including the Board of Investments, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, supported the initiative.
“Strengthening industrial partnerships with Taiwan remains a strategic priority as we continue to position the Philippines as a competitive destination for high-value manufacturing and innovation-driven investments,” said PTIC-Taipei Trade Representative Anthony Rivera.
MECO Chairperson Corazon A. Padiernos emphasized the importance of regular teamwork, noting that “initiatives such as the business mission create new opportunities for investment, technology collaboration, talent development, and the integration of Philippine enterprises into regional and global supply chains.”
The mission is part of PTIC-Taipei’s broader push to attract strong foreign investments, modernize local industries, and create high-paying jobs for Filipinos.
