President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized on Friday that the Philippines remains fully open to economic partnerships with all nations, prioritizing investments that drive job creation, boost local capabilities, and enhance the quality of life for Filipinos.
Speaking during the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP) Presidential Luncheon held at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, President Marcos addressed inquiries regarding the country’s strategic foreign economic engagements and technology initiatives.
Highlighting the administration’s pragmatic approach to international relations, the President noted that economic collaboration is not viewed as a binary or exclusive choice. The government evaluates prospective ventures based strictly on mutual advantage, regardless of their geographic origin, whether partnerships stem from the United States, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Canada, or Australia.
President Marcos underscored that cooperation with China remains active across multiple sectors, noting that China continues to be one of the country’s prominent economic investors and maintains ongoing diplomatic and practical engagements. Furthermore, the administration remains committed to ensuring that national resources are managed through approved frameworks designed to maximize domestic processing value and safeguard national interests.
Ultimately, the administration’s primary objective remains centered on accelerating economic growth, fostering technological advancement, and securing sustainable benefits for the Filipino workforce through continuous training, reskilling, and upskilling initiatives.
