Cebu Pacific flies 5.6M passengers in Mactan airport in 2024

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, transported over 5.6 million passengers to and from Cebu in 2024, representing nearly 50% of Mactan-Cebu International Airport’s (MCIA) total passenger traffic of 11.3 million for the year.

This impressive performance was fueled by robust travel demand and strategic network expansion.  Cebu Pacific’s flights to and from Cebu saw a significant 34.7% increase, rising to 4,824 flights in January 2025 from 3,580 in January 2024.  The airline also expanded its seat capacity by 51.6%, offering over 717,000 seats compared to nearly 473,000 in the same period last year.

This growth underscores Cebu Pacific’s commitment to providing more accessible travel options, particularly for residents of the Central Visayas region.  The airline’s expanded services make it easier for Filipinos to connect with loved ones, explore new destinations, and pursue opportunities across the Philippines and beyond.

Cebu Pacific’s continued growth in Cebu reflects the strong demand for affordable and accessible air travel in Central Visayas,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer. “By increasing our flights and seat capacity, we are not only connecting more passengers but also supporting tourism, trade, and economic opportunities across the region.”

Cebu Pacific currently offers direct flights from MCIA to 24 domestic and six international destinations.  Passengers can anticipate even more travel opportunities through the airline’s frequent seat sales and special promotions. With its expanding network and dedication to customer service, Cebu Pacific remains focused on providing convenient and affordable air travel for every Filipino.

Cebu Pacific’s overall network spans 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
