SEAOIL to install 25 EV charging stations in H1

LARGEST SEAOIL HUB IN LUZON — (L-R) Photo shows SEAOIL Chairman Francis Yu, SEAOIL Bauang La Union dealer Engr. Pepito Alba Jr., and SEAOIL CEO Francis Glenn Yu during the hub’s recent ground breaking ceremony.

SEAOIL, a leading independent fuel provider in the Philippines, is setting up its first  electric vehicle (EV) charging station in new and biggest motorists’ hub  in Luzon located in Bauang, La Union, as part of the company’s plan to install 25 EV charging facilities in the first half of this year.

SEAOIL CEO Glenn Yu said in a statement that the sprawling 12,400 square meter hub, its biggest fuel hub in Luzon, is projected to complete construction in the first half of 2025 and will be the third station in Bauang. Seaoil held a groundbreaking ceremony

The new hub will offer beyond gas refilling to traditional motor vehicles, but also the first station to offer EV charging service in the booming Ilocos Region. Currently, SEAOIL has 15 stations in the La Union province.

The remaining 24 EV charging points will be installed at some of its 25 gasoline stations from its NLEX Balintawak branch.

Yu further said that the Bauang station will also be home to BYD La Union showroom and service shop.

SEAelectric Philippines Inc., SEAOIL’s major partner locator in its Bauang La Union station, will manage the BYD dealership.

This strategic move not only supports the growing demand for electric vehicles but also addresses concerns on range anxiety by making EV charging more accessible to drivers along key routes.

As a one stop shop hub, it will also house various locators such as coffee shops, convenience stores, and car service shops alongside EV charging stations.

SEAOIL is also making available digital payments using its PriceLOCQ, the company’s fuel-saving app, and sell its lubricant products once the location is fully operational.

“This milestone marks the beginning of a new era for SEAOIL. We’re ready to bring sustainable energy and electric vehicles to motorists based in the north. The decision to open in Bauang is strategic as we have an extensive business partner network in North Luzon, and it is close to our Bangar depot further up north,” said Yu.
