B/E Aerospace expands Philippine operation

B/E Aerospace B.V., through its local unit Philippine branch Collins Aerospace, has signed a  Supplemental Agreement with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for the enhancement and expansion of its operations, including manufacturing, within the First Philippine Industrial Park – Special Economic Zone (FPIP-SEZ).
The supplemental agreement was signed on Feb. 24, 2025 by B/E Aerospace CFO and Finance Director Allan Hall and B/E Aerospace Senior Tax Manager Emir Castro, together with PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga and Deputy Director General for Operations Vivian S. Santos.
Under the supplemental agreement Collins Aerospace will expand the company’s registered activities in PEZA. It will now cover a broader scope, including manufacturing, assembly, distribution, and certification of aircraft interior components, as well as the repair, maintenance, and servicing of aerospace systems.
Through this strengthened collaboration, PEZA continues to foster a thriving, technology-driven investment landscape, positioning the Philippines as a key player in the global aerospace industry.
Further, Panga said that the country’s premier flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will soon carry locally-manufactured cabin seats in partnership with Collins Aerospace.
“This will showcase the Philippines’ emerging role as a hub for aerospace innovation,” said Panga. This collaboration, recently highlighted during the First Article Inspection milestone last November 2024, paving the way for more homegrown components to be featured on the nation’s flag carrier.
As of 2024, the British-owned company has already invested more than PhP 7 billion in the country and provided employment to over 3,000 workers.
Panga cited Collins’ operations in the country as a testament to their trust and confidence in the Filipino talents and the domestic ecozones, which provide the best business ecosystem for investors.
“Through this strengthened partnership, PEZA continues to foster a thriving, technology-driven investment landscape, positioning the Philippines as a key player in the global aerospace industry,” said Panga.
