The Office for Transportation Security (OTS), an attached agency of the Department of Transportation, reiterated that passenger safety and security at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are paramount and require the collaborative efforts of various government agencies.
OTS said this in response to the recent reports of a suspected empty bullet shell detected in a passenger’s baggage at NAIA Terminal 3. The OTS has assumed the lead role in the ongoing investigation.
OTS) holds primary responsibility for the NAIA security, screening, including baggage x-ray inspections.
To reinforce public trust and prevent similar occurrences, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is actively collaborating with the OTS to strengthen security monitoring, ensure strict adherence to screening protocols, and enhance transparency in security operations.
