Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the global leader in innovative cruise travel, proudly announces the delivery of Norwegian Aqua, the 20th ship in its award-winning fleet and the first vessel in the groundbreaking Prima Plus Class. This milestone was celebrated at the renowned Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
As Norwegian Aqua prepares for her debut, NCL is marking another major achievement with the float-out of Norwegian Luna. The float-out represents the completion of the ship’s external work and her first contact with water. Norwegian Luna will now move to the floating dock previously occupied by Norwegian Aqua for final interior construction and furnishing, gearing up for her official launch in the spring of 2026.
“Norwegian Aqua is not just a ship; it’s a testament to our commitment to continually pushing the boundaries of cruise travel and delivering MORE for our guests,” said David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “With exhilarating attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster and the introduction of Sukhothai, our first Thai specialty restaurant, Norwegian Aqua is designed to offer unforgettable experiences for the entire family. She will cruise to the Caribbean, Bermuda, and our private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, where we continue to focus on enhancing the guest experience.”
Herrera added, “We are deeply grateful to our partner Fincantieri for their expertise in bringing Norwegian Aqua to life, and with the float-out of Norwegian Luna, we are already looking forward to the next chapter of NCL’s exciting fleet expansion.”
Building upon the legacy of Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, Norwegian Aqua is 10% larger in size and capacity, offering expansive public spaces, exceptional design, and world-class service. The ship introduces thrilling new features that emphasize NCL’s commitment to delivering MORE—whether it’s dining, entertainment, or immersive activities—while maintaining unparalleled service through the highest staffing levels of any new contemporary cruise ship.
Norwegian Aqua is a shining example of NCL’s innovation, blending the signature features of the Prima Class—spacious staterooms, extraordinary experiences, and world-class entertainment—with exciting new enhancements. At 1,056 feet in length and weighing 156,300 gross tons, the ship accommodates 3,571 guests at double occupancy, with expansive outdoor areas designed to foster a deeper connection to the ocean.
“Norwegian Aqua is more than just a ship—it’s a reflection of our dedication to creating unforgettable memories for our guests,” said Herrera. “From thrilling rides to extraordinary dining, we are confident that this next-generation vessel will redefine the cruising experience.”
With Norwegian Aqua’s arrival, NCL continues to set a new standard for cruising, promising guests an unmatched journey filled with innovation, luxury, and unforgettable moments at sea.
