The board and management of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) and SM Investments Corporation (SM) jointly commemorated the 20th anniversary of SM’s listing on the PSE with a bell-ringing ceremony on March 24, 2025.
SM made its debut on the Philippine Stock Exchange on March 22, 2005, raising Php 28.75 billion through the sale of primary and secondary shares in its initial public offering (IPO).
In his welcome address, PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon celebrated SM’s remarkable achievements as a publicly listed company (PLC). He noted that SM’s IPO was the largest in the Philippine stock market over 15 years, from 2005 to 2020. It also became the second domestic PLC to reach a Php 1 trillion market capitalization, a milestone it achieved in August 2017.
Monzon stated, “SM’s two-decade journey as a listed company has not only benefited its investors but also contributed to the nation’s overall economic growth. The company’s expansion has stimulated consumer activity, created jobs, and provided enterprises with access to markets, driving more economic opportunities.”
Monzon further highlighted SM’s impressive financial performance and consistent track record of dividend payouts to its shareholders. In 2024, SM reported a record net income attributable to the parent company of Php 82.61 billion, reflecting a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.3 percent over the last decade.
“With such solid fundamentals, I am confident that investors will continue to be optimistic about SM Investments, driven by the company’s consistent growth, innovation, and the resilience, hard work, and commitment of everyone involved,” Monzon added.
