The SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, Metro Manila’s largest indoor live entertainment venue, delivered a banner year in 2024, attracting over one million attendees across a packed calendar of events.
Situated at the heart of the sprawling SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, the arena hosted a vibrant mix of live entertainment—from major concerts and sporting events to family shows, corporate gatherings, and special productions. More than half of its events in 2024 were dedicated to sports, music, and family-friendly entertainment, further reinforcing its reputation as the country’s premier destination for large-scale and international events.
“Live entertainment venues are strategic contributors to our company’s portfolio. They strengthen the SM ecosystem by driving foot traffic and supporting the performance of our mall tenants and adjacent businesses,” said SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim.
With a seating capacity of 15,000—expandable to 20,000—the SM MOA Arena boasts world-class, FIBA- and NBA-compliant facilities. To ensure it remains at the forefront of global venue standards, the arena recently concluded a comprehensive three-year modernization program launched in 2022, with an investment exceeding US$10 million.
Major upgrades include the installation of digital turnstiles, a striking 702-square-meter LED Media Mesh façade, state-of-the-art acoustic panels, improved public address systems, enhanced back-of-house areas, and new spectator seating—all aimed at elevating both guest and performer experiences.
In recognition of its excellence, the SM MOA Arena was named Sports Venue of the Year at the 6th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards, a testament to its growing impact on both the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and tourism sectors—two critical pillars in the Philippines’ post-pandemic service economy rebound.
“Our strong 2024 performance reflects the public’s renewed appetite for live experiences and the wide appeal of SM Prime’s integrated lifestyle developments,” added Lim. “Looking ahead, we’re excited to present an even more robust slate of local and international events that will continue to drive growth across our commercial portfolio.”
Over the last two years, the arena has played host to an impressive roster of global superstars, including the Backstreet Boys, Alanis Morissette, Sam Smith, Jonas Brothers, 2NE1, Itzy, and Niall Horan. Meanwhile, its lineup of top Filipino acts featured icons such as Regine Velasquez, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Juan Karlos, December Avenue, and Ben&Ben.
As live events continue to thrive, the SM MOA Arena stands ready to welcome even more unforgettable performances and milestones in the years ahead.
