dnata surpasses 1 million tons in Dubai cargo handling

dnata, a premier global air and travel services provider, has achieved a historic milestone in Dubai, processing over 1 million tonnes of cargo between April 2024 and March 2025. This unprecedented volume represents a significant 30% increase compared to the previous year, fueled by robust demand for dnata’s dependable and high-standard services.

From its advanced facilities at both Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum – Dubai World Central (DWC) airports, dnata expertly handles a wide spectrum of cargo for more than 120 airline partners. This includes sensitive shipments such as perishables and pharmaceuticals, as well as specialized cargo like dangerous goods, live animals, aircraft engines, and vehicles.

“We are immensely proud to celebrate this landmark achievement in Dubai, the foundation of dnata’s global success and our largest cargo hub,” stated Guillaume Crozier, dnata’s Chief Cargo Officer. “This record reflects the efficiency and resilience of our operations and dnata’s pivotal role in facilitating the seamless movement of goods through Dubai. Our success is underpinned by the unwavering commitment of our people and the invaluable partnerships we have cultivated with industry stakeholders and authorities, notably Dubai Airports, Dubai Customs, and Dubai Police. We thank them for their continued support as we collectively strive for excellence in cargo handling across the region and beyond.”

Looking ahead, dnata is committed to further enhancing its capabilities in Dubai to support the emirate’s ambitions as a leading global center for commerce, connectivity, and innovation. A key focus of this commitment is a strategic investment in both technology and sustainability initiatives.

Recent technological advancements include the successful implementation of OneCargo, dnata’s comprehensive digital cargo management system. This cloud-based platform automates critical business and operational processes, including safety and quality control, reporting, and ULD management. Leveraging AI-powered tools and analytics, OneCargo provides enhanced insights into sales and performance, enabling customers to optimize capacity utilization and profitability. The system also eliminates manual documentation and redundancies.

Furthering its innovative edge, dnata has integrated autonomous drones into its operational workflow, resulting in significantly faster processing times and improved accuracy in tracking shipments.

dnata is also deeply committed to environmental sustainability. A recent key initiative involves the complete transition of its non-electric ground support equipment (GSE) fleet in Dubai to biodiesel. Additionally, the company actively promotes circular economy principles through the repurposing and recycling of cargo-related materials, such as pallets and nets, contributing to broader sustainability efforts within the industry.
