PAL and Qatar Airways launch strategic partnership for enhanced Manila-Doha connectivity

Philippine Airlines and Qatar Airways announced on Thursday a groundbreaking strategic partnership aimed at expanding services between Manila and Doha, offering enhanced connectivity for travelers from the Philippines to Qatar and beyond.

Beginning on 16 June 2025, Philippine Airlines will operate daily nonstop flights between Manila and Doha. In the initial phase of this collaboration, Qatar Airways will codeshare on the seven weekly flights operated by Philippine Airlines, providing a seamless travel experience for passengers.

The daily flights from Manila will depart at 18:50, arriving in Doha at 23:40. This schedule ensures optimal connectivity for passengers from the Philippines to over 170 destinations across Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, which includes regions such as Africa, the Americas, Central Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Travelers will benefit from a smooth transfer experience at Hamad International Airport (DOH), recognized as the World’s Best Airport in the Middle East by Skytrax in 2025.

For eastbound passengers traveling on Qatar Airways flights, the partnership offers smooth connections to Philippine Airlines’ daily departures from Doha. These flights will leave at 01:30, arriving in Manila at 16:15, providing a convenient afternoon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Philippine Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley K. Ng, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership: “As Philippine Airlines expands its global footprint, we are excited to forge new alliances that strengthen connectivity and offer our business and leisure passengers more flexibility, making it easier for them to reach their desired destinations.”

“Our decision to offer daily frequency to Doha is enabled by our exciting strategic partnership with Qatar Airways and will help us stimulate tourism, trade flows, and business growth in the context of the strong bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Qatar. Our vital Overseas Filipino Workers and their families will also greatly benefit from this new partnership,” said Ng.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori, said: “At Qatar Airways, we continue to explore opportunities that strengthen our connectivity across the world, and our latest partnership with Philippine Airlines is a testament to this commitment. This strategic cooperation also aims to deepen the socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities. We are proud of the new codeshare flights and look forward to delivering increased benefits to global travellers.”

The daily nonstop flights will be operated on Philippine Airlines’ long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft in a dual-class configuration, featuring 18 flat-bed seats in an exclusive Business Class cabin and 341 seats in the main Economy Class cabin.

This collaboration represents a significant step forward in enhancing travel options for passengers between the Philippines and Qatar, while also facilitating access to destinations across the globe through both airlines’ combined networks.
