DPWH celebrates Ease of Doing Business month

In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Proclamation No. 818, which designates May as Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) joined the nationwide observance with a special program held after the flag-raising ceremony on May 5, 2025.

EODB Month promotes a whole-of-government approach to streamlining government services, in collaboration with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs). The month-long initiative features various programs and activities aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness in public service.

During the event, DPWH Undersecretary for Support Services and Chairperson of the DPWH Anti-Red Tape Team (DARTT), Marichu A. Palafox, delivered a brief but impactful message underscoring the department’s continued dedication to quality service delivery under the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas governance framework.

“Let us prove that in DPWH, we don’t just build infrastructure—we build trust and progress. We are transforming red tape into a red carpet for better business movement in Bagong Pilipinas,” Undersecretary Palafox emphasized.

DPWH’s efforts toward streamlined service delivery were recognized in October 2024, when the agency received a Silver Award from ARTA for achieving a “Very Satisfactory” rating in the 2023 ARTA Report Card Survey (RCS) 2.0, conducted under the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

Under the leadership of Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH remains committed to its mission of delivering high-quality infrastructure and upholding the highest standards of public service for the Filipino people.
