President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to the Philippine Air Force (PAF), acknowledging its indispensable role in upholding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Speaking during a visit to Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, President Marcos expressed profound gratitude to PAF personnel, underscoring the government’s dedication to their welfare, operational readiness, and mission success.
During his “Talk to the Troops,” President Marcos highlighted the inherent complexities and risks associated with military service. He assured the men and women of the PAF and their civilian support groups that his administration is diligently working to provide them with the best possible equipment, training, and health facilities, extending this commitment to their families as well.
“This is why this government is highly, highly supportive of all that our men, women, and even our civilian support groups are doing for the country,” President Marcos stated, emphasizing the continuous nature of this support. “We must continue to make sure that our troops, our airmen, our pilots, our staff, are all supported properly so you can do your jobs properly. Rest assured that this is not just for now… This is continuous because the future we face will not suddenly disappear.”
In light of an increasingly intricate global landscape, the Commander-in-Chief urged the troops to remain resolute and clear on their mission. He specifically commended the vital contribution of the Air Education and Training Command in developing disciplined and capable personnel who are prepared to anticipate and respond to all potential scenarios during their missions.
“My resolve is strong because I have seen the product of the Air Education and Training Command, and I know that you are all well-trained, well-equipped, and all very willing and able to continue in your duty to protect the Philippines,” the President affirmed.
