PBBM vows to pursue massive transportation projects; Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge to start before end 2025

Construction of the 32-kilometer Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge project will commence before the end of this year, President Marcos Jr. announced during his 4th State of the Nation Address on July 28, 2025.

The ambitious bridge that will traverse Manila Bay is among the major road infrastructure projects that Marcos announced to be undertaken during his term of office.

At present, it takes five hours to travel from Mariveles, Bataan to Naic, Cavite, but once the interlink bridge is completed travel time will be cut to 45 minutes only.

The president also said that the PNR Bicol Line, which was destroyed by typhoon Kristine, is being repaired including Binaban Bridge. This line will be extended to reach Ragay, Camarines Sir up to Tagkawayan, Quezon.

By 2026, the SLEX extension from Sto. Tomas, Batangas to Tiaong, Quezon is expected to open, cutting travel time from four hours to one hour.

In Tawi-Tawi, the Nalil-Sikkiat Bridge has already opened, to be followed by the Malassa-Lupa Pula next year.

He said that on top of the Luzon Spine Expressway Network program, the government has also the Mindanao Transport Connectivity Improvement Project. This will line Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos, spanning 428 kilometers.

The Guadalupe Bridge will soon be repaired to ensure the safety of everyone, but only until a detour bridge is completed.

He vowed to continue a massive infrastructure projects, including roads, trains, bridges, airports, seaports during his administration.

“We are not building only for today, but we are building also for tomorrow,” President Marcos said.
