ANZCHAM roadshow fosters public-private collaboration, igniting Australian interest

The Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ANZCHAM) recently concluded a successful roadshow in Australia, showcasing the Philippines as a premier destination for investment.

Led by ANZCHAM President Benjamin Romualdez, the event demonstrated the powerful synergy that emerges when government and private sector leaders join forces to promote economic growth.

The roadshow highlighted a clear, two-pronged message. On one hand, representatives from Philippine investment promotion agencies, including the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), presented the big picture. They shared insights on the Philippines’ robust economy, favorable investment climate, and significant opportunities across key sectors like technology, manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure.

On the other hand, private sector executives from companies such as iQor, DysrupIT, and Cloudstaff provided crucial, on-the-ground perspectives. They spoke candidly about how the Philippines has enabled their businesses to scale, the depth of the local talent pool, and how they’ve successfully navigated operational challenges by turning them into opportunities.

“Together, they didn’t just talk about the Philippines—they made it real for our Australian business community,” said Benjamin Romualdez. “That is exactly what will turn interest into investment.”

The roadshow received strong support from the Australian government, with participants including Senator the Hon Don Farrell and representatives from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). Their involvement underscored the Philippines’ growing importance as a strategic market for Australian businesses.

Romualdez emphasized that success in the Philippine market relies heavily on building strong networks and knowing who to collaborate with. The roadshow served as a crucial first step in building those connections and guiding future investment.
