Chelsea Logistics extends lifeline to Cebu with free shipping of relief goods

Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. (Chelsea Logistics), through its subsidiary, Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Inc. (Trans-Asia), has launched a critical relief effort to support communities in Cebu affected by a recent calamity. The company is offering free port-to-port shipping of essential relief cargoes from the Manila North Harbor to Cebu Port, underscoring its commitment to national solidarity and disaster response.

This initiative is a direct response to the urgent need for supplies and aims to fast-track the delivery of crucial aid to those most impacted.

“The spirit of ‘bayanihan’ is at the core of everything we do. When our fellow Filipinos in Cebu face hardship, we stand ready to help,” said a spokesperson for Chelsea Logistics. “By offering our vessels and logistical expertise at no cost, we are working to ensure that every donation—from a pack of noodles to medical supplies—reaches Cebu as quickly as possible. You are not facing this alone, Bai!”

A Comprehensive Range of Aid Accepted

The free shipping service covers a wide array of much-needed relief items, including:

  • Survival Essentials: Food packs, canned goods, rice, ready-to-eat meals, noodles, and drinking water.
  • Health and Hygiene: PPE, hygiene kits, toiletries, and medicine.
  • Comfort and Shelter: Clothing, sleeping materials, biscuits, bread, and footwear.
  • Family Support: Cooking utensils, and even toys for children.

Guidelines for Donors

Chelsea Logistics is appealing to all donating parties—non-government organizations (NGOs), government agencies, private companies, and individuals—to strictly adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the safe and efficient transport of goods:

  • Packaging: All cargo must be properly and safely packed to withstand shipping.
  • Labeling: Each package must be clearly labeled with the complete name, address, and contact details of the consignee (recipient) in Cebu. This is crucial for efficient distribution upon arrival.
  • Inspection: For security and compliance, cargo may be subject to inspection.
  • Acceptance: Acceptance of goods is subject to vessel space availability.

Relief goods and supplies will be received Mondays to Fridays, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the designated receiving area in Manila North Harbor.

Chelsea Logistics extends its gratitude to all public and private sectors participating in this massive relief effort, stressing that “Every effort counts.”
