Mactan-Cebu International Airport launches relief drive for earthquake-affected families

The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), operated by the Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corp. (ACAC), has activated a comprehensive in-kind donation drive to provide immediate assistance to families severely impacted and displaced by the recent devastating earthquake.

Recognizing the urgent need for aid in affected communities, MCIA is mobilizing its resources to serve as a crucial logistics hub and a central drop-off point for essential relief goods. The initiative is a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring that vital supplies reach those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

“Our hearts go out to all the families struggling in the aftermath of this disaster,” said a spokesperson for MCIA.  “As a key gateway in the Visayas, it is our duty to leverage our infrastructure to support the relief and recovery efforts. We urge the generous people and organizations of Cebu, and the entire nation, to partner with us in this critical mission. Every single donation is a lifeline.”

Urgent Needs: Essential Relief Items

MCIA is appealing for the public’s help in providing the following urgently needed in-kind donations:

Hydration: Bottled Water (especially 1-liter and gallon sizes)

Shelter & Comfort: Tents or temporary sleeping shelters, Blankets, Sleeping Mats

Hygiene & Sanitation Kits: Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Diapers (all sizes), Sanitary Pads, and Hand Sanitizers

Ready-to-Eat Food: Bread, Biscuits, Canned Goods (with easy-open lids), Noodles, and non-perishable food items that require minimal preparation.

The official Donation Drop-Off Point has been established for ease of access:

Location: Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corp. (ACAC) Corporate Office, Terminal 1 Pre-departure Level, near the Chapel.

Donors are requested to consolidate and clearly label their donations for faster processing. The facility is operational and accepting goods during standard airport hours.

MCIA extends its gratitude in advance to all donors, volunteers, and stakeholders who are contributing to this massive effort. The airport stands in solidarity with the affected communities.
