AirAsia announces flight cancellations to and from Manila due to Super Typhoon Uwan

AirAsia Philippines (Z2) and AirAsia Malaysia (AK) have proactively canceled all flights to and from Manila scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2025, in response to the severe weather threat posed by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name: ‘Fung-Wong’).

The decision was made to prioritize the safety and well-being of all guests and operating crew amidst the forecasted severe weather conditions.

Guest Notifications and Next Steps

All affected guests have been notified directly via registered email and SMS regarding their flight status. Guests traveling to or from the affected destinations on November 9 & 10, 2025, are strongly advised to remain updated via the following channels:

  • Registered Email and SMS
Service Recovery Options

AirAsia is offering the following service recovery options to all guests whose flights have been canceled:

  1. Move Flight: A one-time free flight change to a new travel date within 30 days of the original departure date, on the same route within the AirAsia network, subject to seat availability and at no extra charge.
  2. Credit Account: Retain the value of the booking in their AirAsia member account for use within 730 days (2 years) from the date of issuance.
  3. Full Refund: Obtain a full refund to the original form of payment.

AirAsia is continuing to monitor the situation closely and is in constant coordination with aviation authorities to ensure timely updates and the safe resumption of operations once the typhoon has passed.
