CAMPI optimistic of hitting 500,000-unit sales target for 2025

Despite the prevailing soft domestic car market in the past 10 months, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) still remained optimistic of hitting the 500,000-unit sales objective for the entire 2025.

Outgoing CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez

Outgoing CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez told media at the launch of the group’s 30th Anniversary Coffee Tablebook, “it is still possible to hit the 500,000 unit sales” for the year. Carsales normally surged during the last two months of the year or around the Christmas season.

Total vehicle sales in October reached 40,014 units, reflecting a 5.2 percent increase from September and matching October 2024 levels, but year-to-date (YTD) sales posted negative growth, based on a joint CAMPI and Truck Manufacturers Association report.

The report showed that sales in the January-October period hit only 383,424 units or 0.2 percent lower than the 384,310 units in the January-October period 2024.

On prospects for 2026, Gutierrez said CAMPI has no forecast yet, but said “it should be better” than 2025.
