Ferrer: Manufacturing industry practitioner takes helm at PCCI

Ferdinand “Perry” A. Ferrer, a seasoned manufacturing industry practitioner, has assumed leadership of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country’s most influential business organization, with governance identified as a top priority under his administration.

Ferrer was elected by PCCI on Friday, December 5, 2025, as the next president of the country’s largest business organization. He will serve the standard one-year term, with an additional one-year extension. Prior to his election, Ferrer served as PCCI Director, and previously held the roles of Executive Vice President for Industry and Director for the Innovation, Science & Technology Committee.

In a message to LogisticsNews.PH, Ferrer emphasized that governance will be at the forefront of his leadership agenda, followed by trade and investment, and workforce development.

“Our direction is anchored on three priorities that must move together: strengthening governance so PCCI is more agile and service-driven; positioning the Philippines as a competitive investment and trade hub; and ensuring our workforce is future-ready through nationwide upskilling,” said Ferrer.

These pillars, he emphasized, are interdependent because “good governance builds trust, trade and investments create opportunities, and skills empower our people to seize those opportunities.”

Ferrer is Chairman and CEO of the EMS Group of Companies, an electronics manufacturing firm established by his father, Francis Ferrer, an industry stalwart who formerly led IMI, the electronics manufacturing arm of the Ayala Group.

Founded in 2004, EMS is a Filipino-owned company employing more than 14,000 workers from various provinces and educational backgrounds. The EMS Group includes EMS Components Assembly, Inc.; EMS Resources Technology, Inc.; EMS Services Philippines, Inc.; and EMS Services International, Inc.

Ferrer succeeds outgoing President Enunina V. Mangio, whose two-year term strengthened advocacy efforts, deepened regional engagement, expanded international partnerships, and enhanced institutional capacity.

Reflecting on the accomplishments of the past year, Mangio noted: “Our achievements were guided by three commitments — strong and relevant advocacy for enterprises; empowering our regional chambers as the backbone of PCCI; and strengthening institutional capacity through better programs, partnerships, and visibility. These priorities made PCCI more unified, responsive, and future-ready.”

Jude Aguilar was also elected as PCCI chairman, Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. as treasurer, and Bryan Ang, committee chairman on trade, CSR, and youth. Other officers will be elected in January next year.

PCCI stated that this leadership transition marks a shift from strengthening advocacy and institutional capacity toward converting these gains into expanded markets, increased investments, and more jobs for Filipinos.

The chamber expressed confidence that the momentum established under Mangio’s leadership will be further amplified under Ferrer as PCCI advances its competitiveness and growth agenda.
