As the Christmas travel season gains momentum, AirAsia Philippines is rolling out a suite of proactive measures to ensure a seamless and “stress-free” experience for thousands of travelers. Key initiatives include the introduction of 24/7 early check-in services at NAIA and a significant increase in flight frequencies across domestic and international routes.
To combat peak-season congestion, AirAsia has transitioned its check-in counters at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3 to a 24/7 operation. Guests are now permitted to check in well ahead of the standard two-to-three-hour window, allowing those who arrive early to bypass long queues and settle in before their flights.
While physical counters remain available, the airline strongly urges travelers to utilize the AirAsia MOVE app or website for online check-in. This allows guests with luggage to proceed directly to dedicated baggage drop-off points, further reducing time spent at the terminal.
Recognizing the surge in family reunions and holiday vacations, AirAsia has ramped up its weekly flight frequencies from Manila to key domestic destinations:
| Route (From Manila) | Previous Weekly Flights | New Weekly Flights |
| Cebu | 47 | 56 |
| Caticlan (Boracay) | 46 | 54 |
| Iloilo | 28 | 32 |
| Tacloban | 24 | 26 |
| Tagbilaran | 21 | 24 |
Additionally, starting this November, AirAsia has expanded its Cebu Hub operations, adding flights to Caticlan, Davao, Iloilo, Kuala Lumpur, and Macao.
“In the Philippines, we know the Christmas season is one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Our priority is to make every journey as convenient and stress-free as possible,” said AirAsia Philippines CEO and President Capt. Suresh Bangah. “We have increased flight frequencies to provide greater flexibility and our ground staff are working proactively to ensure comfort at every touchpoint.”
-
Dedicated Support: Service desks at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3 will remain staffed throughout the holidays to assist with inquiries.
-
Early Arrival: Despite early check-in options, guests are still encouraged to arrive at the airport early to account for heavy traffic around the metro.
