Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards with Boracay named #1 Best Beach in the World

The Department of Tourism (DOT) proudly celebrates a historic milestone for Philippine tourism as White Beach, Boracay, has been officially crowned the #1 Best Beach in the World for “Sunbathing, Surfing, and Doing Absolutely Nothing” in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler (CNT) 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.

This global recognition underscores the enduring allure of Boracay’s iconic coastline. Renowned for its 2.5-mile stretch of pristine, powdery-soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, White Beach continues to serve as a premier sanctuary for travelers seeking both rejuvenation and world-class scenery.

The 2025 awards further solidify the Philippines’ status as a global powerhouse in island tourism. In addition to Boracay’s global ranking, three of the country’s gems were voted into Asia’s Top 10 Islands:

  • Boracay: Celebrated for its vibrant nightlife and idyllic relaxation.

  • Palawan: Recognized for its dramatic limestone landscapes and subterranean rivers.

  • Siargao: Honored as the country’s surfing capital and a rising hub for eco-tourism.

“We join travelers from across the globe in celebrating this wonderful recognition,” the Department of Tourism stated. “Boracay’s White Beach is more than just a beautiful backdrop; it is a testament to the warmth of Filipino hospitality and our commitment to sustainable tourism. These awards prove that the Philippines remains a vibrant, world-class destination that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.”

The DOT attributes this success to the collective efforts of local communities, stakeholders, and the Department’s “Love the Philippines” campaign, which highlights the unique experiences and natural wonders found throughout the archipelago.
