Megaworld expands Negros footprint with P8-Billion ‘The Sugartown’ township in Talisay City

Real estate giant Megaworld is set to transform the landscape of Negros Occidental once again with the launch of The Sugartown, a 97-hectare integrated lifestyle community in Talisay City.

Located along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Road, the project marks Megaworld’s 37th township in the Philippines and its third major development in the province. The company has committed an investment of P8 billion over the next 7 to 10 years to develop this premier destination.

The Sugartown is strategically positioned as a tourism and residential hub, sitting less than five minutes away from the Bacolod-Silay Airport. Its prime location offers unparalleled connectivity:

  • 5 minutes from Talisay City Hall and Northill Gateway.

  • 12 minutes from The Upper East.

  • 15 minutes from the Bacolod City Government Center.

Designed as a comprehensive mixed-use development, The Sugartown will feature:

  • Premium Residential Enclaves: High-end developments by Megaworld and its subsidiary, Suntrust Properties, Inc.

  • Vibrant Commercial District: A dedicated town center and retail spaces designed to cater to locals and travelers.

  • Tourism-Focused Facilities: Unique features intended to position the township as a primary stop for visitors entering the province.

“Our vision for this new township is to provide new opportunities to help boost tourism in the province. With its close proximity to the Bacolod-Silay Airport, this will be an exciting destination for visitors and tourists, and a vibrant enclave for residential living,” says Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, President and CEO of Megaworld. “With the Negros Island Region already in place, the future of this province is bright,” adds Kevin Tan, President and CEO of Alliance Global Group, Inc. (Megaworld’s parent company). “Through this new township—our seventh in the Visayas—we are excited to further contribute to regional progress, especially in tourism.”

The Sugartown follows the success of Megaworld’s existing Negros developments: the 53-hectare Northill Gateway and the 34-hectare The Upper East. As the first development of its kind in Talisay City, it draws inspiration from Megaworld’s decades of pioneering “Live-Work-Play” integrated estates across the country.
