Shera Public Company Limited eyes to further expand Philippine business operations

Bangkok, Thailand – Major Thai fibre cement building materials manufacturer Shera Public Company Limited has requested Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assistance to accelerate its ambitious growth in the Philippines.

In a dialogue led by DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque with Thai firms active in Philippine operations and those exploring opportunities, Shera revealed its current capacity to produce 120,000 metric tons of fibre cement products annually. CEO Ongon Taechahamaphant affirmed, “We want the second phase of our investment to supply the entire country, and we plan to achieve that by investing more.” The company aims to provide products for both government and private projects, including schools and other infrastructure.

Sec. Roque emphasized ample room for Shera to expand, particularly in mass housing. “We are building many houses for Filipinos,” she shared.

Its present capacity generated P2.7 billion in revenue last year, while employing 150 Filipinos to meet staffing needs.

Leveraging President Marcos’s “whole-of-government” approach, Secretary Roque aims to streamline agency efforts for efficient project delivery and investment growth.
