Trans-Asia Shipping implements fuel contingency plan, announces Sunday trip cancellations

Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Inc. (TASLI), a leading provider of passage and cargo logistics, announced the temporary suspension of several Sunday voyages between Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.

This strategic adjustment is part of a comprehensive fuel contingency plan triggered by the escalating geopolitical crisis in the Middle East and subsequent global energy market volatility.

The decision aligns with MARINA Advisory No. 26-10, Series of 2026, which provides guidelines for domestic shipping companies to maintain operational viability amidst fluctuating fuel supplies and rising costs.

The following Sunday schedules have been removed from the March 2026 roster:

Date Route Departure Time (ETD)
March 15, 2026 Cebu to Cagayan de Oro 8:00 PM
March 15, 2026 Cagayan de Oro to Cebu 8:00 PM
March 22, 2026 Cebu to Cagayan de Oro 8:00 PM
March 22, 2026 Cagayan de Oro to Cebu 8:00 PM

“The maritime industry is currently navigating a period of significant external pressure,” the company stated in its advisory. “By consolidating these trips, Trans-Asia aims to ensure the long-term reliability of our remaining schedules and the overall stability of our operations during this period of global uncertainty.”

Trans-Asia prioritizes the convenience and rights of its passengers. Those affected by these cancellations are entitled to the following options:

  • Full Refund: A 100% refund of the ticket price, inclusive of all fees.

  • Free Rebooking: Priority rebooking to the next available voyage (Monday or later) with all rebooking fees waived.

Passengers may process these requests at any Trans-Asia outlet, authorized ticketing agency, or the specific office where the ticket was originally purchased. For online bookings, passengers are encouraged to check their registered email for direct instructions on digital refunds or remote rebooking.
