Cebu Pacific flies high in February 2026 with 2.3 million passengers amid strategic growth

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, continues its upward trajectory in 2026, reporting a 7.9% year-on-year increase in passenger volume for February. The airline carried over 2.3 million passengers during the month, bolstered by a strategic 9.5% expansion in seat capacity.

Cebu Pacific maintained a healthy systemwide Seat Load Factor (SLF) of 85.6%, demonstrating consistent demand despite the rapid injection of new seats into the market.

Segment Passenger Growth (YoY) Capacity Increase Seat Load Factor
Domestic +7.6% +9.4% 86.6%
International +8.8% +9.7% 82.6%
Systemwide +7.9% +9.5% 85.6%

The first two months of 2026 show a robust start for the carrier. CEB has flown nearly 5.1 million passengers so far this year, a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

  • Domestic Market: 3.7 million passengers (+6.2% YoY).

  • International Market: 1.3 million passengers (+9.2% YoY).

  • Average SLF: 84.5% on a 9.7% increase in total seats.

While the numbers reflect strong consumer appetite for travel, Cebu Pacific leadership remains vigilant regarding global economic shifts.

“Our February performance underscores Cebu Pacific’s continued growth, supported by healthy bookings and resilient demand across both domestic and international markets,” said Mike Szucs, Chief Executive Officer of Cebu Pacific.

“At the same time, we remain cognizant of the ongoing crisis and uncertainty in the Middle East and the potential impact of sharply increasing fuel prices on our business. Our operating fundamentals—including our robust domestic network, modern fuel-efficient fleet, and low-cost structure—provide us relative advantages as we navigate these headwinds.”

To mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs, Cebu Pacific is actively reviewing its pricing and network strategies. The airline’s commitment to its low-cost model and the utilization of its modern fleet remain the cornerstones of its resilience, ensuring it remains the preferred choice for value-conscious travelers in the region.
