The Philippine cruise tourism sector continues its upward trajectory as the international luxury vessel MV Piano Land successfully docked at the Eva Macapagal Super Terminal at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
This arrival marks the ship’s third visit to the capital this year, signaling a robust and recurring interest in the Philippines as a premier destination for the East Asian cruise market.
The vessel arrived carrying a vibrant international assembly, including:
-
1,009 Passengers: Primarily composed of tourists from mainland China.
-
501 Crew Members: Providing world-class hospitality and operational support.
Upon arrival, the passengers were greeted with the signature warmth of Filipino hospitality. The group’s itinerary for the day is focused on exploring Manila’s modern landmarks and cultural hubs, with a highly anticipated visit to the SM Mall of Asia for shopping, dining, and leisure activities.
The MV Piano Land is a testament to modern maritime engineering, designed to offer stability and luxury on long-haul international voyages. Its technical specifications include:
| Specification | Detail |
| Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) | 69,840 tons |
| Length Overall (LOA) | 260.97 meters |
| Beam (Width) | 32.20 meters |
These dimensions allow the vessel to navigate major international ports while accommodating over 1,500 people safely, reinforcing the Eva Macapagal Super Terminal’s capacity to handle mid-to-large scale luxury liners.
The MV Piano Land originated its current voyage from China, making Manila a key highlight of its regional itinerary.
The vessel will then proceed to its next port of call, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, as it continues its voyage through Southeast Asia’s most iconic coastal cities.
“The frequent return of vessels like the MV Piano Land underscores the Philippines’ growing reputation as a reliable and attractive hub for international cruise lines,” said local port authorities. “We remain committed to providing seamless services to our guests and showcasing the best of Manila in every visit.”
