AC Mobility aims 90% presence in domestic passenger vehicle segments this year

AC Mobility, the automotive and mobility arm of Ayala Corporation, aims to cover between 80 and 90 percent of total passenger vehicle segments in the country this year, following a deliberate reconfiguration of its portfolio mix and a strong push to build the most comprehensive portfolio of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.

This was emphasized by Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of AC Mobility, formerly AC Motors, during a briefing at the Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on Friday, where he reported its robust performance in terms of unit sales and revenues, bolstered by strong demand for EVs.

“By deliberately reconfiguring our portfolio mix to match the fastest growing segments in this industry, we feel we are positioned to capture massive growth in the market,” said Zobel, the only son of AC Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.

Today, AC Mobility maintains a diverse portfolio, with two main distribution businesses—BYD and Kia—and two rebuild businesses, Isuzu and Denza.

Zobel said the four brands, spanning various technologies, are strategic investments and complementary to one another in supporting the development of its mobility ecosystem.

He highlighted the growth of its EV portfolio, noting that even before the Middle East conflict, EV sales already accounted for 12 percent of total industry sales in 2025.

For the first quarter of 2026, he said they are seeing a combined new energy vehicle and hybrid mix of about 24.2 percent.

With that, Zobel shared that they have updated their forecast for vehicle mix by 2030 from only 20-30 percent a few years ago. “We now project up to 50 percent of new cars sold could be new energy vehicles by 2030,” he said.

As of 2025, he said, nearly 60 percent of its retail sales were EV models, up from only 23 percent in 2024. The growth reflects the increasing number of EV models, rising to 21 from just five in 2023.

He added that AC Mobility has made deliberate efforts to expand its mix of electrified models to become the most comprehensive EV portfolio in the country.
