Pres. Marcos Jr. calls for unified regional resolve amid global uncertainties

Unity, cooperation, and steadfast leadership took center stage today at the grand opening of the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos officially welcomed Heads of State, government representatives, and their spouses at the state-of-the-art Mactan Expo in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Under the Philippine chairmanship theme, “Navigating Our Future, Together,” the summit convenes at a critical geopolitical juncture. In his opening address, President Marcos Jr. emphasized that stronger regional collaboration is no longer just an aspiration, but an urgent necessity.

“As we face unprecedented global headwinds, shifting economic landscapes, and emerging security challenges, ASEAN’s strength lies in our collective resolve,” President Marcos Jr. stated. “By navigating our future together, we ensure that our region remains an engine of global growth, a sanctuary of peace, and a beacon of hope for our 680 million citizens.”
