The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) recently received officials from OSM Shipping Philippines, Inc. during a high-level courtesy call at the MARINA Central Office in Port Area, Manila.
The meeting focused on critical safety and operational interventions aimed at restoring and elevating the compliance standards of the Aleson Shipping Lines, Inc. (ASLI) fleet.
During the dialogue, the OSM Shipping delegation, led by its President, Capt. Alexander Abilo, presented a comprehensive action plan to MARINA Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan and senior agency officials. The strategy explicitly details how OSM Shipping will rectify and resolve the outstanding non-conformities and operational deficiencies currently facing the ASLI fleet.
This proactive roadmap is designed to guarantee rigorous adherence to national and international maritime safety protocols, serving as the foundational requirement for lifting the current suspension on ASLI’s franchise and authority to operate.
To ensure an uncompromised transition toward safe operations, ASLI has officially designated OSM Shipping Philippines, Inc. as its dedicated Ship Management team. OSM Shipping will deploy its extensive technical expertise, robust safety management systems, and specialized training programs to oversee the fleet’s daily operations and maintenance culture.
MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan expressed the agency’s steadfast commitment to passenger safety and maritime security, emphasizing that while the regulator supports the resumption of business, compliance with safety frameworks remains absolute and non-negotiable.
